So the two companies focused all their effort into seeing who can release their own CGI animated bug film first.ģ.
#Antz but movie
An idea for a movie about bugs floated around in the studio, and no one can decide whether the idea belonged to Disney or Jeffrey. Jeffrey Katzenberg, former chairman of The Walt Disney Company, decides he hates the place and goes off to make his own animation company.Ģ. But for those of you who don’t know the story behind this film’s creation, here’s the Cliffs Notes version of it.ġ. The story has been reiterated on the Internet so many times it almost seems pointless to bring it up again. This won’t factor into the overall score, but it will instead give me a chance to discuss how species can effect characterization. However, when the film deals with anthropomorphic characters, I will also add a section titled Animal Characterization in which I examine how the character’s species affects how he/she is portrayed and personified. Each category will be judged on a scale from 1 to 100, and I will average out the scores to give my final verdict.

I will critique the movie in five categories Story, Characters, Animation, Cast, and Personal Enjoyment.

Thankfully, in keeping with the theme I want to give this blog, DreamWorks’ first animated film does star anthropomorphic animals insects to be specific.īefore I get started, I would like to show you guys exactly how I plan on reviewing these films. I knew reviewing the DreamWorks films will probably be one of the more arduous tasks I will preform on this blog, so I figured it would be best I start here. Hooray for first review!! Let’s kick things off with a bang. New to the blog? Start at the introduction.) All copyrighted images belong to their respective owners and are used for review.
